Hello my CFS3-loving peeps!
If I have ever eaten my words, this would be the time I would do so most gladly. It's been around 2+ months since I've spoken up, hasn't it? :D
A while back I mistakenly and ignorantly stated that the IL-2 Sturmovik series had not received a serious fanbase. I was dead wrong.
If any of you all happen to have IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 (the end all, be all), I strongly recommend you visit: www.allaircraftarcade.com
It's a fantastic site dedicated to improving the IL-2 series; doing what others say impossible. IL-2 is notoriously difficult to mod. Yet, they have done it anyways. These very smart people have unlocked 99% of the previously AI-only aircraft, now for our use.
They are also in the business of creating entirely new aircraft, from scratch, with new FM, slots, sometimes even cockpits (another very difficult task).
Yet there is trouble looming on the horizon- of over 14,000 members (yes, not a typo), only about 25 select few smart people are contributing to this effort. We sure could use some more help over there as the team is swamped with new projects. That is a vast understatement! There really is no shortage of work to be done, they already have lists being made of new aircraft they should make after the ones they are already sweating over.
I'm telling y'all this because I've enjoyed the hard work poured into the mods here in the past, and would love to see this type of high-quality work included in the development of IL-2 mods. You've never ceased to dissapoint, but, if AvHistory cannot help this cause, it would be a very sad day.
